ADFIAP, the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), and the European Organization for Sustainable Development (EOSD) signed the “Karlsruhe Declaration on DFI 4.0” on July 12, 2019 at the end of the 9th Global Sustainable Finance Conference (GSFC 9) held in the city of Karlsruhe in Germany.

The joint statement was on aligning national development finance institutions (DFIs) with the requirements of Industry 4.0 and sustainable industrialization and the need for enhanced cooperation among the three partners through joint programs, projects and initiatives to support DFIs in becoming major enablers of technological transformation and sustainable development in their respective countries.

The declaration was signed in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Karlsruhe, Dr. Frank Mentrup, by Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, Ms. Patricia Ojangole, and Mr. Arshad Rab, representatives of ADFIAP, AADFI and EOSD, respectively, in front of the participants of GSFC 9.
