ADFIAP attends ILO-CCC roundtable on green jobs

ADFIAP, represented by its Deputy Secretary General, Norman Tilos, attended the “Second Round Table Discussion on Green Jobs and Just Transition to a Green Economy” on August 7, 2017 at the New World Hotel in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Organized by the Climate Change Commission (CCC) and International Labor Organization (ILO), the roundtable is aimed to get the views of various stakeholders in public and private sectors and civil society on the convergence towards pursuing an environmentally-sustainable economy and society that create jobs.

During the break-out session, Mr. Tilos facilitated the discussion on the gaps and drivers in the creation of green jobs and in the transformation of existing jobs to make them green or greener. A set of recommendations were then presented which pertain to building a favourable and competitive investment climate, supportive regulatory/policy framework, clear and efficient institutional arrangements, capacity building in targeted sectors, access to green finance, communication and social dialogue, incorporating or mainstreaming sustainable development in the educational system, among others.
