ADFIAP shares sustainability work and advocacy at post disaster management forum

pdmwOn invitation by the Project Management Institute-Philippine Chapter and as part of its mainstreaming and sustainable development initiative, ADFIAP was invited to the 2-day “Post Disaster Management Workshop” held on August 8-9, 2014 at the Discovery Suites Hotel Ortigas in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The event was attended by more than a hundred delegates from the private and government sectors.

The workshop served as a platform for the participants to keep abreast on the latest and effective methodology in post disaster management as well as enhanced their competencies in planning and implementing management best practices learnt globally. The participants also learned how to increase local knowledge on the aftermath of a disaster, capacitate hazard monitoring, test warning on communications protocol, and build capacity in communities. In addition, the workshop afforded time for the participants to share their experiences as well as learned from global post disaster project management experts who shared their experiences in tackling disasters around the world.

Mr. Enrique Florencio, who represented ADFIAP in the event, shared the Association’s advocacy on sustainable development as an effective preventive measure to deal with disasters.
