Working with Planters Development Bank’s PDB-FMO Development Center, ADFIAP’s Institute of Development Finance (IDF) has provided logistical support for a study tour program on risk-based internal audit (RBIA) for 22 officials of Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works/Office of the Inspectorate General as part of their country’s good governance initiative.

The AusAID technical assistance grant program was aimed at enhancing the internal audit practices of Indonesian auditors by undertaking a “back to basics” approach to training in audit fundamentals and introducing the RBIA methodology. The participating auditing officials have sought to be familiarized and exposed to the current practices of similarly-situated countries like the Philippines to broaden their knowledge and absorb new skills.

The 5-day program afforded the participants to have briefings from both Philippine private and public auditing organizations as well as from the Asian Development Bank, the Local Water Utilities Administration and the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA). They also had the opportunity to visit ongoing public work projects in Cebu in central Philippines.
